Some links I said I'd post.

What I do is Secret
The body reference stuff/printouts I brought with me were from this guy's DA site.

Stephen Silver
Has done a lot of character work for nickelodeon.

Cave Story
A tribute site for a great free side-scrolling game. The person who made it also has another great looking one coming out soon called Fez!

editoral note

I have tweaked the formatting of the posts so that they can read more clearly. Please let me know if there are any problems or you'd like to see subsequent changes.

Various Links (with NO camel spiders!)

Things that I am grooving on right now that you might enjoy (this is a very eclectic list):

• First, Spongebob
• Second, Jon Klassen
• Then Sam Bosma
• To cleanse the palette, a tribute to Where the Wild Things Are
• Introducing Uwe Heidschoetter
• Don't miss Lou Romano's color scripts from UP

Ok, that's enough.  You'll never get anything done if you spend all your time looking at the crap I post.

Wait, there is one more thing. My updated website. Comments and criticism welcome.

Sam, Yuko, James and camel spiders

Here are some of the things I'm inspired by at the moment:

My current obsession, Sam Weber
Another great illustrator, Yuko Shimizu, has a great interview on the business and practice: here
You probably also already know James Jean.

Here's an interesting flickr set tutorial on inking with ink and brush.

Massive Black

Hello everyone. It was great seeing you yesterday. Looking forward to it next week. You may already know about this, but it's prescient regarding our discussions about digital illustration. The studio is called Massive Black (http://massiveblack.com/mbNew/html/illustration1.shtml). In my opinion, they're one of the best. They've got an illustrator who calls himself Nox. I've never seen his equal. Also you can download process videos and tutorials. Pretty cool stuff.
